This is a very old and simple recipe. For women on the go, you can quick-a-fy it!
5-8 white potatoes, peeled, boiled
1lb hamburger meat, fried, grease kept
1lb ground pork sausage, fried, grease kept
2 tbsp diced onion
1-2 tbsp Lawry's garlic salt
2 Pillsbury ready pie crusts (or home made)
After potatoes are boiled, drain them and place in a large mixing bowl. Add grease from hamburger and pork sausage, mix well. Add diced onion and garlic salt, mix well. Add a couple "splashes" of whole, 2% or skim milk. Using a hand mixer, blend for about 2 minutes or until smooth. Fold in hamburger and sausage meat, stir well. Place one Pillsbury pie crust in the bottom of a 9" pie pan. Scoop potato and meat mixture until level with pan. Add second pie crust over mixture and "tuck" edging around pie. Cut 4-8 slits in the center of the pie. Bake at 350 degrees approximately 30-40 mins or until pie is brown. Serve with beef gravy and fry bread. MMMMMMM-yum!!!!
